Salão Para o Século XXI

Salão Para o Século XXI is a piece by Isabel Costa developed at the Interferências residence for the Olga Roriz Company in 2019. An art exhibition hall is inhabited by human beings who spend their time refining their way of talking, chatting. Nothing exists but their bodies and the slippery nature of their thoughts. In this room their focus consists of conversations, thought and leisures that move the world.

Isabel Rodrigues Costa

Isabel Rodrigues Costa (1992) works in theater, cinema, exhibition design and curatorship. She has a degree in Theatre through the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema having completed her training at the University of Warwick (England) and UNIRIO (Brazil). She has been a member of the Os Possessos theater group since 2014. In terms of exhibition design she has been presenting in spaces such as Paço Imperial in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), the Gallery Luis Serpa Projectos (Lisbon) and Primner Gallery. In 2016 she completed her master's degree Eramus Mundus Crossways in Cultural Narratives attending the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, the University of Perpignan (France) and the University of Guelph (Canada). She devoted herself to the topic of the archive in performance art.
In 2017 started the creation of a solo projects presenting the creation “Estufa-Fria-A Caminho de uma Nova Esfera de Relações” at the Biennial Jovens Criadores and the first edition of the Projeto Manifesta produced by Os Possessos. She premiers her creations “Maratona de Manifestos” and “Salão Para o Século XXI” in 2019.
